From the Piazzale Michelangelo, you can see the tower of Palazzo Vecchio where Cosimo de Medici moved with his family in 1550. The tower is 94 meters high, jutting up directly from the facade of the Palazzo in what is considered to be an exceptionally daring architectural maneuver. Arnolfo di Cambio (1232-1301) is said to have been its architect. |
