The simulation of quantum entanglement with alternative resources has been the object of several recent works. These studies allow a better understanding of the remarkable features of entangled states. Communication has sometimes been used to simulate entanglement; for instance, it is known that a single bit of communication needs to be added to local variables to simulate the maximally entangled state. However, communication has problematic features (e.g. it should be faster-than-light).
