It is no problem to devise a pilot-wave model for bosonic field theories with fields as beables. For fermionic field theory it has proved less straightforward to devise a pilot-wave model with fields as beables. For this reason we explore the idea to introduce field beables only for bosons and not for fermions. Our approach is completely analogous to the situation in nonrelativistic quantum theory, where Bell treats spin not as a beable but only as a property of the wavefunction. |
